Under the supervision of the Director of Canadian Customs located in Québec, the Customs rater is doing the rating, classification and confirmation of customs declarations within a portfolio of assigned clients.

They ensure the proper implementation of new customers including the creation and maintenance of client profiles. They always provide a high level of customer service and acts as an expert in their department.

Main responsabilities

  • Rating of customs entries (including HS classification)
  • Validate customer documentation, customs information, credit verification & billing.
  • Obtain missing information or documents required for releasing of goods
  • Communication with client, suppliers, carriers, customs and PGA
  • Provide expert advice and answer complex questions and requests from customers, colleagues, suppliers, truckers, Canadian Customs, PGA,
  • Customer implementation for Quebec and Ontario Accounts
  • Provide solutions to our customers
  • All other related tasks.

Qualifications required

  • Bilingualism French & English mandatory
  • 7 years experience minimum in HS classification
  • 10 years of experience in customs
  • High knowledge of Canadian customs laws and regulations.
  • CCS, CTCS designation an asset
  • Customer oriented: meet needs and expectations
  • Proactive and autonomous
  • Team player
  • Computer skills: MS Office Suite, IMANET an asset
