{"id":10449,"date":"2024-09-17T18:14:30","date_gmt":"2024-09-17T18:14:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/?p=10449"},"modified":"2024-09-17T18:14:30","modified_gmt":"2024-09-17T18:14:30","slug":"china-opens-anti-dumping-investigation-into-canadian-canola-seed-exports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/en\/china-opens-anti-dumping-investigation-into-canadian-canola-seed-exports\/","title":{"rendered":"China opens anti-dumping investigation into Canadian canola seed exports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On September 9, 2024, China&#8217;s Ministry of Commerce formally issued a Notice of Initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into imports of Canadian canola seed.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This is the first step of the investigation which, according to the notice, will cover a dumping investigation period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, and an industry injury investigation period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese Ministry has indicated that the investigation is self-initiated by the Ministry and is not at the request of domestic industry. Additionally, the Ministry has identified a number of exporters which are in-scope for the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>China is Canada&#8217;s largest canola seed destination, with over 4.5 million tonnes worth CA$3.8B exported in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s announcement follows the Government of Canada&#8217;s notice that it will implement a 100 per cent surtax on all Chinese-made electric vehicles, effective October 1, 2024.
