At the 8th Meeting of the CPTPP Commission in November 2024, Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) members achieved consensus to establish an accession working group for Costa Rica. The final decision will be dependent on the consensus of the CPTPP Parties.<\/p>\n

The Government of Canada is now soliciting the views of Canadians on the potential accession of Costa Rica to the CPTPP.<\/p>\n

All interested parties are invited to submit their views by March 16, 2025.<\/p>\n

The CPTPP is a free trade agreement in force between Canada and 10 other countries in the Indo-Pacific region: Australia, Brunei, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. On December 15, 2024, the United Kingdom became a Party to the Agreement.<\/p>\n
