After conducting a preliminary injury inquiry the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced that it found a reasonable indication that the dumping of certain steel strapping originating in or exported from China, T\u00fcrkiye, the Republic of Korea, and Vietnam, and the subsidizing of the above-mentioned goods from China have caused injury or retardation or are threatening to cause injury to Canadian industry.<\/p>\n

The Tribunal’s inquiry was conducted pursuant to the Special Import Measures Act as a result of the initiation of dumping and subsidizing investigations by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The CBSA will continue its investigation and, by August 8, 2025, will issue a preliminary determination.<\/p>\n

Provisional anti-dumping and\/or countervailing duties could eventually be applicable to imports of the goods under investigation. In such a case the preliminary decisions of the Tribunal and the CBSA will have to be confirmed by final decisions.<\/p>\n
