The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced it has extended the preliminary phase of the investigation respecting the alleged injurious dumping of steel strapping originating in or exported from China, the Republic of Korea, T\u00fcrkiye and Vietnam, and the alleged injurious subsidizing of steel strapping originating in or exported from China.<\/p>\n

Due to the complexity or novelty of the issues presented in the investigations, number of persons involved, and difficulty of obtaining satisfactory evidence, the period has been extended to 135 days.<\/p>\n

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal determined in July that there is preliminary evidence that dumping and subsidising have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to Canadian industry. Provisional anti-dumping and countervailing duties could be applied to the goods in question if CBSA confirms that they are the subject of dumping.<\/p>\n

The decision to issue a preliminary determination or to terminate the investigation with respect to some or all of the goods will be made on or before September 24, 2025.<\/p>\n
