{"id":14982,"date":"2026-04-15T18:34:19","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T18:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/?p=14982"},"modified":"2026-04-15T18:35:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T18:35:00","slug":"canada-and-the-philippines-launched-free-trade-negotiations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/en\/canada-and-the-philippines-launched-free-trade-negotiations\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada and the Philippines launched free trade negotiations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first round of Canada-Philippines free trade agreement negotiations took place in Manila, Philippines, from February 18-20, 2026.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Canada and the Philippines engaged constructively, and both sides demonstrated a commitment to conclude a commercially-beneficial agreement in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides reviewed all draft negotiating text, began to quickly identify commonalities, closed text in several areas, and began isolating areas requiring further focus and technical work.<\/p>\n<p>Within the key developments, National Treatment and Market Access negotiators reviewed the entire draft chapter text and achieved preliminary agreement in some areas.
