The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated investigations to determine whether steel racks originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China are being sold at unfair prices in Canada, or are subsidized, or both.<\/p>\n

The CBSA’s investigations follow a complaint filed by Canadian manufacturers. Dumping or subsidizing by foreign exporters or governments can harm Canadian industries by undercutting Canadian prices, which undermines fair competition.<\/p>\n

In the next step of the investigations the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will determine, by June 18, 2026, whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.<\/p>\n

Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices, subsidized, or both, and will make a preliminary decision by July 17, 2026.<\/p>\n

Provisional anti-dumping and countervailing duties could eventually apply to importations of the goods under investigation.<\/p>\n
