{"id":15115,"date":"2026-05-06T14:47:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T14:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/?p=15115"},"modified":"2026-05-06T15:14:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T15:14:56","slug":"the-cbsa-will-soon-be-able-to-clear-international-containers-at-the-port-of-quebec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/en\/the-cbsa-will-soon-be-able-to-clear-international-containers-at-the-port-of-quebec\/","title":{"rendered":"The CBSA will soon be able to clear international containers at the Port of Qu\u00e9bec"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Government of Canada announced that the Port of Qu\u00e9bec has been certified as the first port of arrival capable of receiving international shipping containers.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will therefore deploy the necessary resources and equipment for the screening and inspection of containers upon arrival and departure, whether for import or export.<\/p>\n<p>The CBSA is already working closely with its local partners, including the Qu\u00e9bec Port Authority and the terminal operator QSL, to meet the requirements for proper designation, licensing, and container inspection facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Based on this work, the CBSA will provide the port with all the detection technology and border services officers required for a first port of arrival. $23 million over five years has already been committed for customs services and cargo inspection infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>This marks a significant milestone for QSL, which announced in 2024 its intention to propose a cargo transshipment project to better meet the needs of businesses and consumers.
