The Act aims to:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>amend current legislation and modernize the way Canada\u2019s marine and railway transportation systems operate;<\/li>\n<li>remove systemic barriers to create a more fluid, secure and resilient supply chain;<\/li>\n<li>expand Canada Port Authorities\u2019 mandate over traffic management;<\/li>\n<li>position Canada\u2019s ports as strategic hubs that support national supply chain performance and effectively manage investment decisions for sustainable growth;<\/li>\n<li>improve the government\u2019s insight into ports and their operations; and<\/li>\n<li>modernize provisions on rail safety, security, and transportation of dangerous goods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Together, these measures seek to improve the supply chain, including the competitiveness of Canada\u2019s transportation system and operations that are safe, secure, efficient and reliable.
