{"id":6345,"date":"2023-01-23T21:33:04","date_gmt":"2023-01-23T21:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/?p=6345"},"modified":"2023-01-23T21:33:04","modified_gmt":"2023-01-23T21:33:04","slug":"saskatchewan-and-manitoba-seeking-to-limit-fees-on-exports-going-through-port-of-vancouver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/axxessintl.com\/en\/saskatchewan-and-manitoba-seeking-to-limit-fees-on-exports-going-through-port-of-vancouver\/","title":{"rendered":"Saskatchewan and Manitoba Seeking to Limit Fees on Exports Going Through Port of Vancouver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saskatchewan and Manitoba are heading to court to get involved in a case based in B.C.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In a media release Tuesday, the Saskatchewan government said it was joining Manitoba in seeking leave in federal court to intervene in a judicial review of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority\u2019s new gateway infrastructure fees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a province that depends heavily on exports, Saskatchewan wants to ensure that the full impact of new port fees on key sectors of our economy is taken into consideration,\u201d Bronwyn Eyre, Saskatchewan\u2019s justice minister and attorney general, said in the release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese fees could significantly increase costs for Saskatchewan goods moving through the Port of Vancouver and diminish Canada\u2019s overall global competitiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority\u2019s new fees took effect January 1.
