The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that it initiated investigations respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain wind towers from China.<\/p>\n

The investigations follow a complaint filed by a Canadian manufacturer. The complainant alleges that as a result of an increase of the volume of the dumped and subsidized imports from China, they have suffered material injury in the form of lost market share, lost sales, price undercutting, price depression, reduced profitability, suppressed capacity utilization, reduction of employment, and insufficient return on investment.<\/p>\n

In the next step of the investigation the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will determine, by June 20, 2023, whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.<\/p>\n

Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices and\/or are being subsidized, and will make a preliminary decision by July 20, 2023.<\/p>\n

Anti-dumping and\/or countervailing duties could eventually be applied to the goods under investigation.<\/p>\n
