Detention and demurrage (D&D) charges have plummeted over the past 12\u00a0months, as carriers try to keep hold of their shippers in a slackening\u00a0market.<\/p>\n

Container xChange\u2019s annual D&D survey found that, across 65 international gateways,\u00a0average D&D charges fell 25% year on year, and were\u00a0below pre-pandemic levels for the first time in three\u00a0years.<\/p>\n
