Global Schedule Reliability Drops Sharply in October

After three steady months, global schedule reliability fell sharply in October, underscoring ongoing volatility across major carriers.

Global schedule reliability fell month-on-month (MoM) by 3.5 percentage points to 61.4 percent in October, marking only the second significant monthly decline this year.

Year-on-year (YoY), reliability improved by 11.1 percentage points. The average delay for late vessel arrivals rose slightly to 4.98 days, though this remains 0.87 days lower than the same month in 2024.

Maersk led the top 13 carriers with 74.1 percent schedule reliability, followed by Hapag-Lloyd at 69.6 percent and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) at 65.9 percent. Nine of the remaining carriers reported performance in the 50–60 percent range. PIL recorded the lowest reliability at 44.9 percent.
