The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reports that G20 merchandise export growth flattened in Q2 2024, as measured in current US dollars, following a rise in the previous quarter.
New Canadian surtax to be imposed on imports of steel and aluminum products from China
In line with the announcement of a new 100% surtax on Chinese electric vehicles, the Canadian government also announced it intends to apply a 25% surtax on imports of steel and aluminum products from China, effective October 15, 2024.
