According to data for the month of May released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) global air cargo demand rose by 14.7% compared to May 2023 levels (15.5% for international operations). This is the sixth consecutive month of double-digit year-on-year growth.

Canada’s trade deficit increased to $1.9 billion in May

Statistics Canada reports that the country’s merchandise exports decreased 2.6% in May, while imports were down 1.6%. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world widened from $1.3 billion in April to $1.9 billion in May. This represents a third consecutive monthly deficit.
