The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an investigation respecting the alleged injurious dumping of oil and gas well casing originating in or exported from the Republic of Austria.
U.S. Customs officially establishes Gordie Howe International Bridge as a port of entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in a Fedreral Register Notice that it is officially establishing the Gordie Howe International Bridge (GHIB) border crossing as a port of entry (part of the port of Detroit) for customs purposes and as a Class A port of entry for immigration purposes.

World trade volume remained stable in the third quarter of 2025

The World Trade Organization (WTO) reports that the volume of world merchandise trade plateaued at a high level in the third quarter of 2025 following a strong first-half expansion driven by import frontloading, favourable macroeconomic conditions and rising demand for AI-related products.
Canada’s merchandise trade deficit rises to $2.2 billion in November

Statistics Canada announced that Canada’s merchandise exports fell 2.8% in November, while imports edged down 0.1%. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world widened from $395 million in October to $2.2 billion in November.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced it has extended the preliminary phase of the investigation respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of truck bodies originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China.
Canada and China reach an agreement on trade in agri-food, electric cars and energy

Prime Minister, Mark Carney, visited Beijing, China, last week. In Beijing the Prime Minister met with the President of China, Xi Jinping, the Premier of China, Li Qiang, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Zhao Leji.
WCO publishes official Harmonized System changes to take effect in January 2028

The World Customs Organization (WCO) posted on its website the official version of changes to the Harmonized System (HS) nomenclature which will enter into force on January 1, 2028.
