In December 2021 the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its finding made in January 2017 concerning the dumping of certain gypsum board originating in or exported from the United States imported into Canada for use or consumption in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories (Western Canada).
Following the Tribunal’s decision, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the finding (and the removal of anti-dumping duties) is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods.
The investigation has now been completed and Agency has determined that the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods originating in or exported from the United States.
The Tribunal will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its finding is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision by October 19, 2022.
