The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an investigation respecting the alleged injurious dumping of oil and gas well casing originating in or exported from the Republic of Austria.
The investigations follow a complaint filed by a Canadian manufacturer in Alberta.
In the next step of the investigations the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will determine, by April 2, 2026, whether the imports are harming Canadian producers.
Concurrently, the CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being sold in Canada at unfair prices and/or are being subsidized, and will make a preliminary decision by May 4, 2026.
Provisional anti-dumping duties could eventually apply to importations of the goods under investigation.
