Due to the difficulties in obtaining satisfactory evidence and the complexity and novelty of issues presented in the investigation respecting the alleged injurious dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from Bulgaria, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has extended the preliminary phase of the investigation to 135 days.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal had determined on July 2, 2024 that there is preliminary evidence that dumping and subsidizing have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to Canadian industry.
The decision by CBSA to issue its preliminary determination, or to terminate all or part of the investigation, will now be made on or before September 13, 2024.
