Are you interested? We are looking for our next Customs Release Specialist to join our Customs department in Quebec.

Full Time, permanent
Quebec Office

Your main duties will be to:

  • Open files, enter data and clear files under his/her responsibility.
  • Identify missing information and documents and communicate with the appropriate parties (customers, shipping lines, other Axxess departments).
  • Make payment requests for Terminal & Handling fees payable to forwarders/shipping lines.
  • Prepare local deliveries if applicable and validate loads according to customer.
  • Problem solve, in collaboration with supervisor, Import Specialist, Release Specialist and Consulting colleagues.
  • Ensure proper document management in the various files.
  • Verify files and ensure that the right amounts are declared, the right items, in the right currencies, etc.
  • Follow up files with warehouses and carriers, according to ETAs.
  • Answer basic questions from customers & truckers (phone or email, PARS check).
  • Proactively follow up with customers and carriers according to level of responsibility.
  • Teamwork with various departments.

The profile we are looking for:

  • English and French mandatory to speak with your colleagues and clients across North America
  • High school diploma
  • 5 years of experience or more in customs
  • CCS, CTCS certification
  • High knowledge of Canadian customs release process.
  • Knowledge of Imanet system, Excel and Microsoft Office.
