The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) posted on its website an updated page with the list of goods which are currently subject to its verification priorities.
Through verifications the Agency assesses importers’ compliance with CBSA administered legislation, determines compliance within industry sectors and assesses the integrity of trade data received from importers.
Verifications usually concern the tariff classification of imported goods, and their value for duty and their origin.
In the updates to it’s trade compliance verifications web page for July 2025 the Agency added the following priorities:
• United States Surtax Order (2025-01)
• United States Surtax Order (Steel and Aluminium 2025)
• United States Surtax Order (Motor Vehicles 2025)
