Maritime Employers Association Provides Update on Port of Montreal Arbitration Proceedings

The Maritime Employers Association (MEA) provided the following update to CIFFA on September 10.

Here is a brief update on the dispute arbitration process currently underway to establish a new collective agreement with the Port of Montreal Longshoremen’s Union.

The arbitral tribunal is chaired by Maureen Flynn, who has extensive experience in this field.

Last Wednesday, a day of hearings was held during which various issues relating to evidence and procedure were resolved.

Further hearings are scheduled in the coming weeks.
