PortMiami announces a 2.35% increase in TEUs volume in fiscal year 2025
PortMiami announced results for Fiscal Year 2025, which started October 1, 2024 and ended September 30, 2025, in both cruise and cargo operations. The port welcomed an unprecedented 8,564,225 cruise passengers, up from 8,233,056 the previous fiscal year, a 4.02% increase and the highest annual passenger count in the seaport's history.
PortMiami also achieved another significant accomplishment in cargo performance. The port recorded 1,115,058 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), up from 1,089,443 TEUs the previous fiscal year, a 2.35% growth and marking 11 consecutive years exceeding one million TEUs.
The port's cargo growth highlights the importance of infrastructure investments, including increased yard efficiency, technology, and connectivity. Cargo yard enhancements include completion of phase two of the Electric Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane (eRTG) Project, which will bring the total number of eRTGs in the South Florida Container Terminal to 18 allowing for higher stacking of containers and more efficient runs within the yard. In the Seaboard Marine yard, work continues on its draining project and rehabbing berths.
