Reminder: Blanket certificates of origin need to be renewed for 2023

Blanket certificates of origin, whether for CUSMA or for other free trade agreements, are usually set to begin on January 1 and to expire, twelve months later, on December 31.

The preferential tariff treatment of a free trade agreement can only apply to goods for which a current and valid certificate is on hand.

If you use blanket certificates of origin you should make sure that you have the required renewed certificates for 2023.
