Tribunal to review expiry of duties on concrete reinforcing bar from several countries

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its May 2017 finding to determine if the expiry of the order is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar from Belarus, Taiwan, (excluding those goods exported by Feng Hsin Steel Co., Ltd.), Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal and Spain, and, if so, would this be likely to result in injury to Canadian industry.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by August 26, 2022, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping of the goods if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of a positive determination, the Tribunal will determine, no later than February 2, 2023, whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing is likely to result in injury.
