North American transborder freight decreased 0.3% in October

According to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics, total October transborder freight between the U.S. and the other North American countries (Canada and Mexico) by all modes of transportation was valued at $138.4 billion of transborder freight moved by all modes of transportation, a decrease of 0.3% compared to October 2024.

Freight between the U.S. and Canada, at $60.3 billion, was down 6.2% from October 2024 and freight between the U.S. and Mexico, at $78.1 billion, was up 4.7% from October 2024.

Trucks moved $93.5 billion of freight, up 5.8% compared to October 2024. Railways moved $16.3 billion of freight, up 1.6% compared to October 2024.

Pipelines moved $7.6 billion of freight, down 4.3% compared to October 2024. Vessels moved $8.6 billion of freight, down 10.1% compared to October 2024. Air moved $5.7 billion of freight, up 19.9% compared to October 2024
