Tribunal finds dumping of concrete reinforcing bar from 3 countries injures Canadian industry
After conducting a preliminary injury inquiry the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced that it found a reasonable indication that the dumping of concrete reinforcing bar from the Republic of Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has caused injury or is threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
Canada’s trade deficit increased to $1.9 billion in May
Statistics Canada reports that the country’s merchandise exports decreased 2.6% in May, while imports were down 1.6%. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world widened from $1.3 billion in April to $1.9 billion in May. This represents a third consecutive monthly deficit.
