CBSA issues final determinations on certain mattresses from China

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that it terminated the dumping investigation in respect of mattresses from China by Jiaxing Taien Springs Co., Ltd. and Xianghe Kaneman Furniture Ltd. as they have not been dumped.

The CBSA also made a final determination of dumping concerning mattresses for all other exporters from China, for which the investigation has not been terminated.

On the same day the CBSA, terminated the subsidizing investigation in respect of mattresses from China by Dongguan Sinohome Ltd., Gold Lion Furniture (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Guangdong Eonjoy Technology Ltd., Jinlongheng Furniture Co., Ltd., Xianghe Kaneman Furniture Ltd., Zinus Xiamen Inc. and Zinus Zhangzhou Inc. due to no subsidy or insignificant amounts of subsidy.

The CBSA made a final determination of subsidizing concerning mattresses for all other exporters from China, for which the investigation has not been terminated.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry and will make an order or finding by November 4, 2022.

Provisional duties will continue to apply on imports of subject goods until the date of the CITT’s order or finding. However, provisional dumping and/or countervailing duties will no longer be imposed on imports of goods of the same description as the goods of which the dumping and/or subsidy investigations have been terminated.
