CBSA confirms final dumping and subsidy decisions on thermoformed molded fibre tableware from China

On May 28, 2026, pursuant to subsection 41(1)(b) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued its final decisions confirming dumping and subsidizing of thermoformed molded fibre tableware from China. The official notice was published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on June 6, 2026.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will continue its inquiry into the question of injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision no later than June 26, 2026. During this period, provisional duties continue to be imposed on the subject goods from China.

If the CITT finds that the dumping or subsidizing have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury, antidumping and/or countervailing duties will be applied to future importations of the subject goods. The importer in Canada would then be required to pay these duties. The full Statement of Reasons will be issued within 15 days of the decisions.
