Port of Vancouver Operations Update – July 26

The Port of Vancouver remains open and operational.

The CN rail line affected by the Jasper, Alberta, wildfires is operational, with staged trains now transiting through the region. This rail line carries cargo to and from the Port of Vancouver. A plan to process the backlog of trains has been implemented and includes ongoing coordination of CN train detours over CPKC track between Calgary, Alta. and Kamloops, B.C. Both railways will continue to employ fire mitigation and prevention activities using specialized fire suppression trains, equipment and crews.

The National Supply Chain Office will hold stakeholder calls over the weekend to provide updates and assist in response support.

All anchorage vessel class assignments remain fluid; however, vessel delays and heightened anchorage demand are expected at the port in the coming days due to the rail disruptions. Vessels in port can be viewed on the home page of the port’s eHub app by selecting “Vessels in Port”.
