Road Logistics Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Director of Road Transport (NAT), the Road Transport Coordinator is the intermediary between the transporters and the customers.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Receive and acknowledge quotes and load confirmations from customers by email and phone
  • Enter all requests in our systems as per North American Transport processes and procedures
  • Follow operational instructions, document cargo log
  • Acknowledge receipt of orders; obtain supplier pricing and availability, quoting customers
  • Tracing of loads and advising customers of order pick-up/delivery status, including nights and weekends
  • Data entry and file auditing
  • Schedule and plan shipments according to customer requirements with all stakeholders
  • Efficient communication with clients and colleagues to follow up on inquiries; reports, telephone, e-mail
  • Work in collaborations with other freight departments in other regions (Montreal, Quebec, Mississauga, etc) to coordinate customer’s activities

Required skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • College degree or university degree in a pertinent field
  • Industry and technical knowledge, experience in oversized cargo, special projects, dry van – flatbed & specialized equipment, intermodal United States and Canada and ocean freight.
  • Negotiating skills and salesmanship

  • Technical skills: MS Office Suite, Link Logistics, PC Miler
