The Government of Canada announced it filed notices challenging, under Chapter 10 of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), the final results of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s fourth administrative reviews of its anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders on softwood lumber from Canada.
Global air cargo demand strengthens despite challenges

According to data for the month of July released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) global air cargo markets are showing a continuing trend of recovering growth rates since February.

CBAM: Commission publishes detailed reporting obligations and guidance as the transitional phase approaches

This August, the European Commission published the detailed rules governing the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) during its transitional phase. The transitional phase starts on 1 October of this year and runs until the end of 2025, before the definitive CBAM comes into force in 2026.
Canadian railways’ total freight volume dropped 6.9% in June

Statistics Canada reports that Canadian railways transported 28.3 million tonnes of freight in June, down 6.9% from June 2022 and the second consecutive month of year-over-year decline. Overall traffic was at its lowest level for the month of June in more than five years.
