Dear clients,
This is to inform you that the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has called a general strike of more than 155,000 Treasury Board and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) employees.
The strike involves PSAC members at Treasury Board and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
What services could be affected?
According to the PSAC, the public can expect delays and disruptions to several government services.
These include
- Employment Insurance
- Immigration
- Passport applications
There is also talk of a complete halt in the processing of income tax returns, disruptions to supply and trade activities at ports and airports, and slowdowns at border posts, where administrative staff will also be on strike.
The government has put contingency plans in place in March in anticipation of a strike to ensure essential services, but there may be delays or disruptions to supply and trade at border ports, harbours and airports.
Please be assured that our team is making every effort to continue to provide you with the best service you are entitled to.
