On November 28, 2022, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its February 2018 finding concerning the dumping and subsidizing of stainless steel sinks originating in or exported from China.
Following the Tribunal’s decision, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of the subject goods.
The CBSA’s expiry review investigation has now been completed and the Agency has determined that the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of the dumping, and of the subsidizing, of such goods originating in or exported from China.
The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its finding is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry, and has announced that it will issue its decision by October 4, 2023.
