Important Notice: CFIA Maintenance

Dear Valued Clients,

We want to inform you about an upcoming maintenance period that will significantly impact the import of CFIA-regulated goods into Canada, scheduled to take place from October 28, 2023 3:00 PM to October 30, 2023 7:00 AM (ET). This maintenance will affect the following CFIA services:

  • Automated Import Reference System Verification Service (AVS)
  • CFIA Shipment Tracker for Food, Plant, and Animal products
  • Electronic Data Interchange – Integrated Import Declaration (EDI – IID)

 

To ensure the continuation of your business processes during this maintenance period, there will be alternate release procedures. For more information on these procedures, please refer to the “How to submit a paper declaration to the National Import Service Centre” webpage.

We would like to highlight that the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) will remain fully available throughout the maintenance period, providing you with a valuable resource for your import-related inquiries.

While Axxess International is dedicated to assisting you during this maintenance, we want to stress that these delays are beyond our control. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

To minimize disruptions, please consider the following actions:

     1. Plan Ahead:

If possible, avoid transporting CFIA-regulated goods through a port of crossing during this maintenance window to circumvent the delays entirely.

     2. Submission Deadline:

If crossing during this period is unavoidable, ensure that your documentation reaches us by Friday, October 27th at 3:00 PM (ET). This allows us to submit your entry prior to the CFIA system outage. Entries received after this deadline are expected to experience significant processing delays with CFIA.

     3. Late Submissions:

In the event you cannot provide documentation before the cutoff, we will still process your entry as efficiently as possible. Please note that the situation could result in significant release delays beyond our control as well as additional fees.
